How to Stack Startup Cloud Credits
“Stacking” here means applying to more than one verified program when you appear eligible—not combining awards into one guaranteed pool. FoundersPrime lists four core cloud cards: AWS Activate ($100,000 Credits), Google for Startups Cloud ($350,000 Credits), Microsoft Founders Hub ($5K–$150K Azure credits), and DigitalOcean Hatch ($100,000 Credits). Each provider writes its own rules. This guide maps those live listings side by side and flags conflicts—without promising you can collect every ceiling.
FoundersPrime’s public positioning is up to $500K in startup credits across the catalog. That is a catalog framing, not a stacking formula.
What does “stack” mean on FoundersPrime?
Answer: It means you *may* apply to multiple listed programs if each program’s own eligibility still holds. It does not mean FoundersPrime or any vendor will let you add $100K + $350K + $150K + $100K into one bank account. Awards, exclusions, and “prior credits used” caps are decided by AWS, Google, Microsoft, and DigitalOcean.
If two programs both require you to be new to that cloud, you cannot honestly claim both as a long-time customer of that cloud. Read each live card the week you apply.
Which live eligibility lines can conflict?
Answer: Conflicts show up on the cards themselves:
- AWS Activate FAQ: self-funded or funded, unassociated or portfolio, new to Activate.
- Google for Startups Cloud FAQ: founded within 10 years, equity funded, B2B or B2C.
- Microsoft Founders Hub has two paths: investor-network (up to $150K) vs standard (up to $5K), plus lifetime Azure-credit caps and software-product requirements on the live listing.
- DigitalOcean Hatch FAQ: Series A or earlier, new DigitalOcean customer, less than $10M revenue.
A bootstrapped team may fit AWS and Hatch more cleanly than Google’s “equity funded” line. A team already on DigitalOcean may fail Hatch’s “new customer” line. None of that is a FoundersPrime stacking guarantee—it is a reason to read each FAQ.
How should you sequence applications?
Answer: Sequence by stack fit, then honesty about eligibility, then apply-time friction. Live apply times: Hatch 5 min; Google and Microsoft 15 min; AWS 15–30 min. All four cards show 1–7 days approval and open rolling.
Practical order many founders use (not a promise it works): form the company if needed (Stripe Atlas, $52,500+ in perks), apply to the cloud you will burn first, then file the others only if you still meet “new to program / new customer” language. What else is commonly stacked beside cloud?
Answer: Tooling and formation, not extra mystery cloud. GitHub for Startups (up to $7,560 in credits; funded Pre-Seed–Series B on the live FAQ) and Stripe Atlas. Microsoft’s live Founders Hub description also mentions GitHub Enterprise access—compare that page to the standalone GitHub deal rather than assuming they are the same award.
Cash-style programs live under /programs/grants. Those are not cloud credits; see Startup grants vs cloud credits.
What should you never do when “stacking”?
Answer: Do not invent spend, ROAS, or award rates to justify applying everywhere. Do not submit conflicting company-age, funding, or “new customer” answers across vendors. Do not plan payroll on credits that are still pending. After any approval, set billing alarms the same day and keep expiry notes from the provider, not from memory.
FAQ
Can I collect every credit ceiling at once?
FoundersPrime does not guarantee that. Each provider sets eligibility and whether prior credits disqualify you. Compare the four live deal pages before you assume a stack.
Which listing has the highest headline value?
Google for Startups Cloud shows $350,000 Credits on FoundersPrime. Highest number is not the same as best fit.
Does Hatch block AWS Activate?
They are different vendors. Hatch’s live card requires a new DigitalOcean customer. AWS has its own “new to Activate” line. Read both FAQs; do not treat this guide as legal or program advice.
