Mailgun is an email API and SMTP relay service that enables developers to send, receive, and track transactional emails at scale. The platform provides a free plan with 100 emails per day, allowing students and developers to build and test email functionality without upfront costs.

The free tier includes access to Mailgun's core features: Send Email API, SMTP relay, Email Validation API, email list validation tools, and an email template builder. After signup, you are billed a prorated amount for your selected plan in the current month, then charged monthly at the start of each month for the previous month's usage. Mailgun's infrastructure is hosted in both the US and EU, so you can choose your data region. Support is available at multiple levels depending on your needs.
